The use of glass or the sample preparation for characterization requires to shape a meterial with very precise dimensions. Prime Verre is equipped with the suited tools to transform any form of blocs into well definited dimension sample. In addition, the surface roughness may be tailored with respect to inquiry :

• coring from 1 to 100 mm in diameter
• sawing into crude samples
• precise sawing: cuts with constant thickness to within 5 µm on 30 mm of length
• crude polishing: alumina-grained or SiC prepolishing - fine polishing: until 4000 grade(6µm of roughness)
• optical polishing using paste containing diamond grains (1 µm)
• preparation of thin slides down to 100 µm of thickness
• crushing : sieving according to the classes AFNOR ; washing of powder
• embedding withtransparent resin
• chemical etching, metalization ...
