Thermal characterization of materials

These analyses consist in following a property of the material during heating or cooling run :

  • mass evolution as a function of temperature until 1500°C under air, controlled atmosphere or primary vacuum (GTA)
  • thermal expansion as a function of temperature until 1500°C. Determination of Tg (glass transition temperature), Td (dilatometric softening) according to the norm NF B30-010)
  • exothermic or endothermic phase transformations up to 1450°C (DTA differential thermal analysis)
  • viscosity evolution thanks to a beam bending home made equipment (viscosity within 1E6-1E12 dPa/s))
It is also possible to study material properties as a function of number of heating and cooling runs.
